When in Galveston, you got to go to The Spot! Such a great, casual restaurant overlooking the beach with both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a big menu with lots of options so everyone can find something they want! It's a family friendly restaurant and within the original location, they have a tiki bar and ice cream shop. It's a fun environment with really great service! The place is pretty big so even if there's a line because it's a popular spot (called THE Spot after all), I'd say it's worth the wait. The food is good, the drinks are cold, the atmosphere is chill and it makes for a good time. Go enjoy!

This is the spot to go to for some good food, drinks, and vibes! They have a pretty efficient system here. You order up at the counter, and they bring the food to you. You have to place the pager on a specific part of the table so they know where to find you. You can choose to sit at any open table. We chose to sit outdoors to get a view of the beach. There were a bunch of pigeons and flies on the patio, but it wasn't terrible. Just had to swat them away. I ordered the seared tuna tacos. It was good, but was it worth $18 for 2 tacos and chips on the side? Not sure. The tuna was fresh, and it did not taste fishy at all. Loved each of the toppings in the taco, from the crispy wontons that gave the nice crunch to the honey vinaigrette that gave it that sweetness. Would've been better with more sauce in general! I didn't care too much for the chips or the salsa. I tried some of my friend's dish- the jumbo fried shrimp. The waffle fry and shrimp were so crispy and seasoned just right! My friend also got the piña colada, which was super refreshing, sweet, and creamy. Since they don't provide direct service, please do expect that no one is going to really check up on your or provide water refills. I can tell this is a very popular spot given how busy it was with practically every table occupied. Parking lot was packed, but thankfully, they have street parking AND a garage that offers parking for free the first three hours! If you're not at the spot, then what spot are you at? Come check it out!

Stopped in for a late lunch with some friends while down exploring the coastal area. 3 of us had the fish tacos but each chose differently. I had the Ahi tuna, one had the shrimp and another had the fish. All of us agreed they were good and happy we got them. I subbed my chips and queso for onion rings and they were very good with a light crispy batter. Our 4th lunch mate had a burger and enjoyed it. This place is quite large, you order at the counter and pay and they give you a beeper device to take to your table. You sit anywhere you want and they find you when your food is ready. The nice thing about this method is you don't have to wait for a server to bring a check and then take you credit card, etc. It's much faster this way when you are finished.

The food here is always top notch. We had the appetizer platters. The cheese sticks were huge but still delicious. Usually the larger cheesesticks tend to be not as good but not the case here. The shrimp kisses are delicious. The fried pickles are on point. Tip, sit at the tiki bar. You can order from the spot menu while sitting rather than standing in the line at the spot. And you can have a drink while waiting. Plus it's the exact same menu from the same kitchen.
